Apple

Who doesn't like apples? Everyone loves apples, so turning apples into schnapps is pretty much a logical thing to do – and to be quite honest, apple schnapps are best-sellers.

Strangely enough when you translate apples into an alcoholic drink like schnapps, it it morphs into something that does not only taste of apples, but also has a hint of almond and vanilla. These warm flavors make apple schnapps especially ideal for the cooler autumn months. The great thing about apple schnapps, however, is that it's one of the few schnapps flavors that can stand on its own – it 's an appetizer drink as much as it is a stew spiker.

Making apple schnapps is exciting because there are many types of apples, and they can all be used to make apple schnapps. You'd need apples that are ripe and fresh, unflavored vodka, two clear glass jars, a dark room, a strainer and sugar syrup. Wash your apples and slice them – leave the skin on, and don't slice off the cores. Put them in the jar, and pour in the vodka, sealing it tightly and then leaving it in a dark room for around two months – shake and taste to make sure it's just right. Strain into a new jar and store for two days, before mixing it with equal parts of sugar syrup and storing for another couple of days (or weeks, the longer it seeps, the better the flavor). Serve whichever way you like.
